"Have you seen the video?"

"Yes."

"It's not what happened."

"I know. Tell me exactly what was said, including anything you remember before and after the recording."

Amara took a slow breath.

Then began explaining.

Evelyn arrived at the apartment two hours later.

She brought a small recording device for an interview with Amara's permission, a folder containing the trust's documents, and a legal pad filled with questions.

Daniel was sitting at the kitchen table.

He looked exhausted.

The online accusations had spread faster than either sibling expected.

Amara had received hateful messages, and someone called the restaurant demanding to know whether the waitress who embarrassed the billionaire was still employed.

Evelyn listened carefully to Amara's account.

Then asked whether anyone else heard the full conversation.

Amara named Celeste, Mariam, and several members of the service team.

The attorney made a note.

Next, she asked about the alleged million-dollar demand.

Amara shook her head.

"I didn't ask for money."

"Did you accept the challenge?"

"I answered his question."

"Did you say anything implying you'd remain silent if he paid?"

"No."

Evelyn nodded.

Then asked whether the billionaire actually promised payment.

Amara hesitated.

"He said he'd give me a million dollars if I could speak Arabic. I don't know whether he meant it seriously."

The attorney looked toward her.

For several seconds, she considered the answer.

Then said.

"That distinction matters. We aren't going to turn this into a dispute about a theatrical promise made at dinner."

Amara nodded.

She didn't want a lawsuit over a joke.

She wanted the trust's rights examined.

Evelyn continued.

"We're going to preserve the original documents, request the relevant records, and respond to any false statements with verifiable facts."

Daniel looked toward his sister.

Then asked whether her employer would fire her.

Amara lowered her eyes.

For a moment, she couldn't answer.

Evelyn looked toward the phone.

"That depends on decisions we don't control. But we're not going to let the video become the only account available."

Celeste called that afternoon.

Amara answered with trembling hands.

"Hello?"

The restaurant manager sounded tired.

"I've received twelve calls asking whether you still work here."

Amara closed her eyes.

"I'm sorry."

Celeste interrupted.

"Don't apologize for calls you didn't make."

For a moment, Amara was silent.

The manager continued.

"I've spoken with our service staff. Their recollections are consistent with yours."

Amara felt tears gathering.
