Naomi glanced toward the open contract.

The document was more than six hundred pages long, including schedules, exhibits, financial representations, and a supplemental consent certificate that had been added shortly before the meeting.

She had seen thousands of pages of corporate paperwork during her brief professional career.

But she needed only one.

“Clause nine,” she answered.

Graham stared.

“What?”

“Page nine of the supplemental agreement. The founder's authorization.”

For one moment, something flickered across his expression.

Then he leaned closer.

“Careful, sweetheart. You don't want to lose your job over something you don't understand.”

Naomi felt the familiar sting of being spoken to as though she were a child.

She had heard it before.

In interviews.

At reception desks.

And from men who assumed her uniform told them everything worth knowing about her.

But this time, the insult barely registered.

She was staring at the contract.

At the signature near the bottom of the page.

At a name she had learned to recognize before she could write her own.

She lowered the silver tray.

Graham stepped toward her.

“Did I dismiss you?”

Naomi looked up.

“No.”

“Then get out.”

She placed the tray on the polished wooden table.

The porcelain cups rattled sharply.

Every executive turned.

Graham's face reddened.

“What the hell do you think you're doing?”

Naomi pointed toward the open document.

“Your contract says the original founder approved this transfer yesterday.”

Graham stared.

“So?”

Her eyes filled.

She forced herself to speak.

“Dr. Samuel Brooks died three years ago.”

The boardroom became silent.

Arthur Bellamy slowly raised his head.

Naomi continued.

“That is his signature beneath the consent certificate.”

She pointed to the date.

October 27, 2026.

Then she looked directly at Graham.

“My father died on May 14, 2023.”

For three seconds, no one moved.

Graham's smile vanished.

Arthur pushed back his chair.

One of the executives dropped his pen.

And Naomi, the woman everyone had treated as invisible, stood at the center of the most expensive corporate meeting of the year and said the words that would destroy the billionaire's carefully constructed plan.

“Someone used my dead father's name to authorize a deal he spent his life trying to prevent.”

Arthur looked toward the contract.

His hands trembled as he adjusted his glasses.

“Bring me page nine.”

Graham stepped forward.

“Arthur, there's no reason to—”

“Bring me the page.”

The chairman's voice was quiet.

But it carried across the room.
