Homemade Snickers Clusters β Gooey Caramel, Crunchy Peanuts & Rich Chocolate
These Homemade Snickers Clusters turn the classic flavors of a Snickers bar into easy, bite-size candy clusters. Each one combines salty roasted peanuts, soft chewy caramel, and a thick coating of smooth chocolate for that irresistible sweet-and-salty combination.
Theyβre much easier than making traditional candy bars because thereβs no complicated nougat or candy-bar shaping involved. Simply build little peanut-caramel clusters, chill until firm, and dip them in chocolate. A sprinkle of flaky sea salt makes them even better.
Perfect for holiday candy trays, Christmas gifts, parties, bake sales, or keeping in the refrigerator whenever a chocolate craving hits.

How to Make Homemade Snickers Clusters

Step 1 β Prepare the Pan
Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
Make sure there's enough room for approximately 20β24 candy clusters.
Make the Caramel
Step 2 β Melt the Caramels
Place the unwrapped caramel candies, heavy cream, and butter in a microwave-safe bowl.
Microwave for 30 seconds.
Stir thoroughly.
Continue microwaving in 15β20 second intervals, stirring after each interval, until completely smooth.
Don't overheat the caramel.
Step 3 β Add Vanilla
Stir the vanilla and a small pinch of salt into the warm caramel.
The caramel should be thick but fluid enough to coat the peanuts.
Make the Peanut Clusters
Step 4 β Add the Peanuts
Pour the roasted peanuts into the caramel.
Fold everything together until the peanuts are generously coated.
You want plenty of peanuts in every cluster rather than a pool of caramel with only a few nuts.
Step 5 β Portion
Working quickly, drop heaping tablespoonfuls of the peanut-caramel mixture onto the parchment-lined baking sheet.
Use two spoons to shape them into compact clusters.
You should get approximately 20β24 clusters, depending on size.
Step 6 β Chill
Refrigerate the clusters for approximately 30β45 minutes, or until the caramel is firm enough to handle.
For faster results, freeze them for about 15β20 minutes.
Don't freeze them rock-solid.
Make the Chocolate Coating
Step 7 β Melt the Chocolate
Combine the milk chocolate and semisweet chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl.
Microwave for 20β30 seconds, then stir.
Continue heating in 15-second intervals, stirring thoroughly between each one, until almost completely melted.
Stop heating and continue stirring until smooth.
If desired, add 1 tablespoon refined coconut oil for a slightly thinner, smoother coating.
Coat the Snickers Clusters
Step 8 β Dip
Drop one chilled peanut-caramel cluster into the melted chocolate.
Use a fork to turn it until completely coated.
Lift it from the chocolate and gently tap the fork against the edge of the bowl to remove excess chocolate.
Step 9 β Set on Parchment
Carefully slide the coated cluster back onto the parchment-lined baking sheet.
Repeat with the remaining clusters.
Add the Finishing Touch
Before the chocolate sets, sprinkle each cluster with either:
- Chopped roasted peanuts
- Flaky sea salt
- Or both
For a classic candy-bar appearance, leave some completely smooth.
Let the Chocolate Set
Refrigerate for approximately 20β30 minutes, or until the chocolate coating is firm.
Once set, allow the clusters to sit at room temperature for about 5β10 minutes before eating for the best caramel texture.
