The scream came before anyone realized the elderly-looking woman in the burgundy floral blouse had actually grabbed a fistful of platinum-blonde hair.
βGET OUT! YOU DON'T BELONG IN THIS HOUSE!β
The beautiful Black woman stumbled forward as the fifty-eight-year-old HOA president violently pulled her head downward. Her oversized amber sunglasses slipped toward the end of her nose, and the enormous taupe leather handbag hanging from her arm swung against her hip. For one terrifying second, her elegant white-blonde curls were stretched tightly between the woman's clenched fingers.
Two uniformed police officers stood less than six feet away.

Neither immediately stopped it.
The confrontation unfolded outside a magnificent red-brick suburban home on a beautiful Thursday afternoon in Willow Ridge, an exclusive residential neighborhood outside Richmond, Virginia. The house stood behind a broad green lawn, carefully trimmed hedges, white porch columns, and a long curved driveway leading toward a three-car garage.
It was the kind of property people slowed their cars to admire.
And the woman being attacked owned every inch of it.
She was thirty years old, tall and exceptionally beautiful, with rich brown skin, symmetrical facial features, full lips, and long, voluminous platinum-blonde hair falling over her shoulders in polished waves. Her outfit looked as though she'd stepped out of an international fashion magazine: an impeccably tailored taupe blazer with sculpted shoulders and a narrow waist, matching flowing trousers, a black high-neck scarf, and elegant black leather gloves extending almost to her elbows.
Oversized amber-tinted sunglasses framed her face.
Thick gold bracelets rested over one glove.
And a massive structured beige designer handbag hung from her left forearm.
She looked expensive.
Confident.
Completely composed.
At least she had until the HOA president lunged forward and seized her hair.
βGET YOUR FILTHY HANDS OFF ME!β
The woman's voice cracked with pain and fury.
She caught the older woman's wrist with one gloved hand and tried to pull free without twisting the attacker's arm. Her beautiful hair remained trapped between the president's fingers, and the sudden pressure forced her to bend at the waist.
The first police officer stepped forward.
βMa'am! Let her go!β
The HOA president ignored him.
βShe's trespassing!β she shouted. βI told you she's trespassing!β
The second officer, a younger man with short blond hair, looked from the woman being attacked to the front door of the house.
βMa'am, release her hair right now!β
But the HOA president only tightened her grip.
