He could see the conflict in her eyes.

She wanted to intervene.

She was frightened of her superior.

And she appeared to know more than she was saying.

The CEO spoke softly.

“It's all right. Please ask the cabin manager to come over.”

She nodded.

The senior attendant stepped between them.

“There is no reason to involve management.”

The CEO looked at her.

“Then perhaps you can explain the condition of this food.”

She glanced down.

For a split second, something flickered across her face.

Not surprise.

Not confusion.

Recognition.

Then her expression became cold.

“Food sometimes looks different at altitude.”

The elderly teacher made an incredulous sound.

The CEO remained calm.

“Altitude doesn't create visible mold on a bread roll.”

The attendant's eyes narrowed.

“Are you a food inspector?”

He considered the question.

Then he answered.

“I know enough not to eat that.”

She folded her arms.

“Then don't.”

He looked at her.

“Would you serve this to the passenger behind me?”

She hesitated.

“That's irrelevant.”

“Would you eat it yourself?”

Her face reddened.

“Stop interrogating me.”

The CEO nodded slowly.

He had received his answer.

Then he lifted his phone and took the third photograph.

The entire tray was clearly visible.

He included the bread, chicken, expired package, side dishes, and service markings.

The senior attendant stared at the screen.

Something about the methodical movement irritated her more than an angry complaint might have.

She wanted him embarrassed.

She wanted him shouting.

She wanted the surrounding passengers to see him as troublesome.

Instead, he was documenting.

And documentation was something she had learned to fear.

She leaned closer.

“Put that phone away.”

He lowered it.

“I'm finished.”

She smiled bitterly.

“Good.”

Then she said the words that would later become central to the investigation.

“Eat it or go hungry. You're not special.”

The CEO looked directly at her.

For several seconds, neither moved.

Then he answered.

“I never said I was.”

The attendant looked confused.

He continued.

“I'm asking for the same safe food and respectful service every passenger deserves.”

Her expression hardened.

She pushed the tray closer.

Then she walked away.

At that moment, the CEO understood that the problem was no longer simply a questionable meal.

The woman had been offered several opportunities to correct it.

She had refused.

She had dismissed a legitimate safety concern.

She had threatened a junior employee who attempted to intervene.

And she had openly treated a passenger differently from the people sitting around him.

He looked toward the galley.

The younger attendant was standing near the entrance.

Her hands were trembling.
