One of the businessmen cleared his throat.
“Perhaps we should adjourn.”
The billionaire looked toward him.
“Sit down.”
The man hesitated.
Then slowly returned to his chair.
The daughter noticed.
Even now, with the transaction under scrutiny, the billionaire was trying to control everyone around him through intimidation.
Then a quiet voice came from behind her.
“May I say something?”
The daughter turned.
The elderly restaurant employee stood near the service entrance.
He wore a beautifully tailored dark jacket over his formal uniform, and his silver hair was neatly combed.
The billionaire barely glanced at him.
“Not now.”
The older man remained where he was.
The daughter looked toward him.
Then smiled faintly.
“Please.”
The billionaire frowned.
“What is this?”
The older employee approached the table.
His steps were measured.
His posture was dignified.
He looked directly at the billionaire.
Then spoke in Thai.
“คุณจำผมได้ไหมครับ”
Do you remember me?
The billionaire stared.
Then looked annoyed.
“Should I?”
The elderly man nodded.
“We've met several times.”
He looked toward the developer.
“Some of you attended the first employee stewardship meeting in Bangkok.”
The developer's expression changed.
The billionaire frowned.
“What does that have to do with this?”
The older man reached inside his jacket.
Then removed a small folder.
The daughter watched quietly.
She already knew what it contained.
But the billionaire did not.
The older employee placed a certified copy of a trust appointment document on the table.
Then looked toward the men seated around him.
“I was elected as one of the employee stewardship trustees.”
The billionaire became very still.
The older man continued.
“Twenty-seven years with the hotel group. Most of them serving guests.”
He paused.
“And for the past four years, representing employees in the trust established by our founder.”
The developer stared at the document.
The billionaire leaned forward.
“You?”
The elderly man nodded.
“Yes.”
“But you work in a restaurant.”
The older man smiled faintly.
“I do.”
The billionaire looked confused.
The older employee continued.
“And I also hold a responsibility you seem to have overlooked.”
He placed another document beside the first.
It identified the protected properties and the approval rights associated with their transfer.
The billionaire stared.
The older man spoke calmly.
“The proposed transaction requires the stewardship approval.”
The billionaire's jaw tightened.
The employee continued.
“No such approval has been granted.”
The developer looked toward his phone.
The billionaire turned toward the consultant.
The older man remained standing.
Then he delivered the second surprise.
