She also prepared a formal response requesting that the unsupported demands cease and that any legitimate concerns be handled through the established process.

Isaiah agreed.

He didn't want a neighborhood feud.

But he was beginning to understand that Pamela's behavior wasn't likely to stop simply because he asked politely.

The following afternoon, Nora called Isaiah.

Her voice sounded uneasy.

"Can I ask you something about your Mustang?"

He frowned.

"Of course."

"Has anyone tried to arrange for it to be picked up?"

Isaiah went still.

"What do you mean?"

Nora explained that she'd seen a flatbed tow truck driving slowly through the neighborhood earlier that day.

It stopped near Isaiah's house.

The driver appeared to check an address.

Then continued toward the exit.

Nora didn't know whether the truck was connected to Pamela.

But given the recent activity, she thought Isaiah should know.

He thanked her.

Then checked his camera recordings.

The truck appeared briefly near the street.

It didn't enter the driveway.

And no vehicle was removed.

Isaiah saved the footage.

Then contacted the towing company whose name was visible on the truck.

The employee he reached declined to discuss confidential customer details immediately.

But after Isaiah explained that he owned the property and was concerned about an unauthorized removal request, the employee agreed to refer the matter to a supervisor.

Later that evening, the supervisor called.

He asked Isaiah whether he'd authorized the company to transport a yellow 1967 Ford Mustang.

Isaiah felt his stomach tighten.

"No."

The supervisor was quiet.

Then asked whether he was the registered owner.

"Yes."

Another pause.

Finally, the man explained that the company had received inconsistent requests concerning the vehicle and wanted to verify authority before accepting any work.

Isaiah took a slow breath.

"Who made the requests?"

The supervisor couldn't disclose every detail over the telephone.

But he confirmed that the company wasn't proceeding with a disputed removal.

He also advised Isaiah to document the concern with the appropriate authorities.

When the call ended, Isaiah sat silently.

Pamela was no longer simply issuing irritating violation notices.

Someone had been trying to arrange transportation for his Mustang without his permission.

And the possibility that a valuable family heirloom might be taken while he was away made the dispute suddenly much more serious.

Isaiah called Danielle that night.

She listened.

Then advised him to document what the towing company had said and make a non-emergency report to local law enforcement describing the attempted unauthorized removal concern.
