The company contacted the association manager.

The manager called Nora Ellis.

Within hours, Luke learned about the observation.

He felt an almost physical jolt.

The blue tracer introduced near his pool's old auxiliary fitting had apparently appeared in the fountain system.

That didn't mean every detail was resolved.

Samples and system records still needed to be examined.

But the timing, video, and observed flow created compelling evidence that the two systems might be connected.

Nora called Luke.

Her voice sounded strained.

"Did you put blue tracing dye into your pool yesterday?"

Luke nodded.

"During a limited diagnostic check."

She paused.

"And the fountain turned blue this morning."

He was silent.

Then asked, "Has anybody changed the fountain equipment?"

"Not since the landscaping worker reported it. I told the manager to preserve the situation until the appropriate professionals can document it."

Luke exhaled slowly.

"Thank you."

Nora hesitated.

"Luke, did Celeste know about this?"

He thought about her expression.

The sudden fear.

The demand that he stop recording.

And the way she'd looked toward the fence.

"I don't know what she knew," he answered.

Then he added, "But I think we need to find out."

The technical investigation expanded.

The association's attorney and Luke's lawyer coordinated a process allowing qualified specialists to examine the relevant portions of the fountain infrastructure and the suspected connection near the property boundary.

The work proceeded with documentation and appropriate precautions.

The investigators reviewed the original pool plans.

The HOA's fountain renovation records.

Bluehaven's invoices.

And the observed flow behavior.

Eventually, the evidence established that an auxiliary line originating from Luke's private pool had been connected to the fountain's make-up water arrangement.

The fountain circulated most of its water normally.

But when its auxiliary equipment called for additional water, the altered system could draw from the private pool circuit.

Luke's automatic fill system then replaced water lost from his pool.

That explained the increasing water usage.

His property was effectively supplying water for an HOA amenity without an agreement authorizing the arrangement.

The technicians couldn't determine every historical detail from the physical system alone.

But the relevant invoices and installation records showed that Bluehaven performed work on the connection during the fountain renovation.

Luke stood beside the equipment enclosure when Rafael explained the findings.

For several seconds, he couldn't speak.

Then he looked toward the HOA landscaping beyond the fence.
