The manager’s face fell.

No answer existed.

The billionaire turned toward the security guard.

“When she told you to remove me, what did you observe?”

He hesitated.

The manager looked sharply at him.

The billionaire noticed.

“You may answer without consequence for contradicting management.”

The guard looked at her.

Then the director.

The director nodded.

The guard took a breath.

“You were sitting in the car.”

“Anything else?”

“No.”

“Threatening?”

“No.”

“Yelling?”

“No.”

“Damaging property?”

“No.”

“Refusing to leave after security personally instructed you?”

“I never instructed you.”

“Why?”

The guard glanced toward the manager.

Then back.

“Because I didn’t see a safety reason to put hands on you.”

The billionaire nodded.

“Thank you.”

The manager snapped:

“Security does not get to override management.”

The guard replied carefully:

“With respect, physical removal is my responsibility once requested. If I think a request can be resolved without contact, I’m supposed to slow it down.”

The director looked surprised.

“That is policy.”

The manager stared.

The billionaire looked toward the director.

“When was the last time your staff reviewed that policy?”

He hesitated.

“Six months ago.”

The guard shook his head.

“Almost a year.”

The director looked toward him.

The guard continued.

“Scheduled refresher was postponed.”

The billionaire turned toward one of the attorneys.

“Add it.”

He wrote something.

The manager stared at the woman.

“You came here looking for problems.”

The billionaire looked almost tired.

“No.”

“I came here hoping not to find them.”

“That’s not true.”

“Why?”

“Because you came unannounced.”

“Yes.”

“You hid who you were.”

“No.”

“You never asked.”

The manager opened her mouth.

The billionaire continued.

“I told you the name of my investment firm.”

“You laughed at the idea I had owned Bugattis before.”

“You were given information.”

“You dismissed it because it conflicted with your first impression.”

The manager looked toward the floor.

The billionaire’s voice softened.

That somehow made it worse.

“You keep calling this a trap.”

“A trap would mean I manipulated you into behavior you would not normally choose.”

“No one told you to throw that folder.”

“No one told you to threaten security.”

“No one told you to dismiss your own employee for asking you to wait.”

The manager looked at the junior associate.

He looked away.

The billionaire asked:

“Were you fired?”

The junior associate swallowed.

“She told me to go home.”
