“Yes.”

The deputy nodded.

“Okay. Leave the clamp where it is for the moment. We're documenting it.”

Sandra folded her arms.

“This is absurd. You're treating us like criminals.”

Morales looked toward her.

“Ma'am, we're determining what happened.”

Sandra's voice sharpened.

“Do you understand who I am?”

The deputy remained calm.

“You've told us you're the HOA vice president.”

Sandra stared.

Morales continued.

“That doesn't resolve whether these men were authorized to enter this property and interfere with this vehicle.”

For the first time, Sandra seemed unable to find an answer.

I looked toward the camera above my garage.

Then toward Morales.

“Deputy, the entire incident was recorded.”

Sandra's face changed immediately.

I continued.

“I also have the footage from the earlier tire vandalism, although that recording doesn't establish who caused the damage.”

Morales nodded.

“We'll preserve the relevant evidence.”

I opened the current recording.

The video showed the white utility truck entering the driveway.

Three men stepping out.

Sandra pointing toward the Porsche.

Jeff removing the wheel clamp.

The man with the towing hook approaching the bumper.

Then me stepping onto the porch.

The audio captured most of the exchange.

My request that they step away.

Sandra's claim of authority.

Kessler's command that I remain on the porch.

And the moment he shoved me backward.

Deputy Bishop moved closer.

He watched the footage twice.

Then looked toward Kessler.

“You placed your hand on Mr. Vale's chest and pushed him.”

The guard folded his arms.

“He was interfering.”

“With what?”

“An authorized impound.”

Bishop glanced toward the video.

“Did he threaten you?”

Kessler hesitated.

“He approached aggressively.”

The deputy looked toward me.

I kept my voice steady.

“I moved from the porch toward my car and asked them to stop. I did not threaten anyone.”

Bishop nodded.

“The video will help establish the sequence.”

Sandra stepped forward.

“This is all being blown out of proportion.”

Morales looked toward her.

“A man is reporting that people entered his driveway and tried to remove his vehicle without his permission. One of those people used physical force against him. We need to investigate that.”

Sandra's eyes narrowed.

“He provoked them.”

“By asking them not to take his car?”

The question came from Bishop.

Sandra turned sharply.

For several seconds, she looked stunned.

Then she looked at me.

“This isn't over, Marcus.”

I met her eyes.
